AUGUST 18, 2008

Our story this week will be: NOAH’S ARK (Based on Genesis 6:9-14, 7:1-2, 12-19, 8:1-3, 18-20)

We will be emphasizing that God cared for the Animals.

The week’s unit will provide the opportunity for the children to recognize and name zoo animals,

and to learn that animals need care.

Things we will emphasize:

Animals are an important part of God’s plan for the world.

Wild animals live in jungles and forests.

Wild animals are not safe to play with.

A zoo is a safe place to see wild animals safely.

Many young children are frightened by wild animals. We want the children to know that wild animals are not safe to play with,

but that God made them and he wants us to love and take care of his animals.

We can take care of them by taking care of our environment.

Bible verse and thought will be:

(we will also be learning the American Sign Language for the verses)

“God made the animals.” Genesis 1:25
